New York City is the
home of some of the biggest names in broadcasting, here is a list
of some you may consider visiting, rated by our site visitors
as must see places.

ABC
Television offers free studio audience tickets to those
shows taped live. Tickets are available by request from
ABC's Guest Service at the phone number above. Tickets are
also available by writing in advance to Guest Services,
include a stamped self addressed envelope and the specific
show dates. ABC also maintains a self service ticket window,
open Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., located
at the studios on West 66th Street.
At the
present time the only show being taped is the Morning Show.
No one under 16 years of age is admitted to studio tapings.
Production and taping schedule changes are not uncommon.
Reservations are available for groups of 25 or more. ABC
does not offer studio tours.

CBS
Television offers free studio audience tickets to those
shows taped live. Reservations are required for both individuals
and groups. However, reserved tickets do not guarantee seating,
which is done on a first come first serve basis. Tickets
can be obtained by writing in advance, including a stamped
self-addressed envelope and specifying the dates and shows
preferred. A limited number of non reserved tickets may
be available the day of the show.
The
shows taped at this studio include: The Joan Rivers Show
and The Geraldo Show.
There
are no public tours available. No under 18 years old is
admitted into the CBS studios. There is very limited parking
in the area.

The
Museum of Television and Radio was founded in 1975 to collect
and preserve television and radio programs and to make these
available to the public. Since it opened its doors, the
museum's collection has grown to include more than 400,000
programs chosen for their artistic, cultural and historical
significance. The collection covers more than seventy years
of television and radio history from news, public affairs
programs, and documentaries to the performing arts, children's
programming, sports, comedy shows and commercial advertising.
Each year the museum presents major exhibitions and seminars
that highlight and explore various aspects of programming
from the museum's collection.

couch potato, there are some pressing questions in life
that are slow to get answered. One is how come nobody complains
when David Letterman keeps showering the streets of Manhattan
with glass and note cards.
Sofa
slugs take heart, answers to significant queries such as
this may be available on a tour of the National Broadcasting
Company. Guided tours of television and radio studios take
place Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Learn
some of the fascinating secrets of television production
as you take a one-hour tour of NBC. From the Golden Age
of Radio through many of the landmark TV programs that established
NBC's reputation for innovative and quality programming.
NBC's
studio tour runs every 15 minutes, between 9:30 a.m. and
4:30 p.m., Monday thou Saturday. Children under the age
of 6 are not admitted. There is a NBC Studio Gift Shop within
the building.
NBC
Television also offers free studio audience tickets to those
shows taped live. Tickets are available from the studio's
ticket office the day of the show. The ticket office opens
Monday through Friday at 8:00 a.m. Tickets can also be obtained
by writing in advance, include a stamped self addressed
envelope and specify the dates and shows preferred. Studio
tapings usually last from 1 to 2 hours. There are some standby
tickets available for most of the tapings.
The
shows taped at this studio include: Saturday Night Live
and the Phil Donahue Show.
Show
production schedules are usually finalized one month in
advance; however, scheduling changes are common. Those who
have acquired tickets in advance should reconfirm the show's
taping on the day of the show. Reservations are available
for groups of 30 or more and must be made at least one month
in advance. Ages of admission vary from show to show, usually
no one under 16 years old is admitted into the studios.
No cameras are allowed in the studios.

Located
in the GE Building at 30 Rockefeller Plaza (50th St. between
5th & 6th Avenues). The B, D, F and Q subway trains
stop below our building at 47th-50th Street & Rockefeller
Plaza.
